Bayshore 10k — one of my favorite days on the Traverse City calendar.

If you’re not from here, is a massive running event that takes over Traverse City every May. Thousands of runners, gorgeous course along the bay, and the kind of community energy that reminds you why this place is special. There’s a marathon, half, and 10k — and it draws people from all over the Midwest.

This year looked a lot different for me personally. I severely sprained my SI joint in December, then re-injured my quad at one of Hadley’s track meets just when I was getting back. I went in today with zero training and a quad I still don’t fully trust.

I just wanted to finish. And I did.

Shawn and my dad both PR’d, so the day was a win on every level. 🎉👏

If you’ve never been to Traverse City in May, put it on your list. The town is alive right now — and it only gets better from here.
