A $100M water pipeline is about to reshape northwest Tucson — and almost nobody is talking about it.
This summer, the Northwest Recharge, Recovery, and Delivery System (NWRRDS) is being commissioned across Marana, Oro Valley, and the Metro Water District.
It recovers Colorado River water banked underground in the Avra Valley and delivers it to 115,000+ customers through a 13-mile transmission main.
Why does this matter if you're buying, selling, or building on the northwest side?
→ Post-2026 Colorado River cuts could hit 27%
→ Arizona requires a 100-year assured water supply for new subdivisions
→ NWRRDS strengthens the long-term water picture for
NW Tucson's fastest-growing corridor
In the desert, water infrastructure is not a footnote to the real-estate story - it IS the story.
