Pending home sales in May increased by 3.8% month-over-month and 4.8% year-over-year, MoM and YoY pending home sales rose in the Northeast, Midwest, South and West.

Home sales climb to the highest level since 2022
Existing home sales rose 2.8% in May, reaching an annualized rate of 4.53 million units, the highest level since October 2022, according to a Redfin report.

Total home sales, including both existing and newly built homes, increased 3.8% from April to 308,446 transactions.

New listings rose 1.4% in May to 396,181 properties, while active inventory climbed to nearly 1.48 million homes.

According to the 2026 Home Buyers and Sellers Generational Trends Report, Gen Z buyers (ages 18 to 26) are entering the HomeBuyer market with a bang! Gen Z isn’t waiting around for life’s traditional milestones. Marriage, kids, and white picket fences are not prerequisites. In fact, 53% of Gen Z buyers purchased homes solo, and 35% were single women—the highest share of single female buyers across all generations. Another 17% were unmarried couples, also the highest of any generation. Most Gen Z buyers (81%) didn’t have children under 18 living at home, underscoring how early (and independently) they’re entering homeownership.

Gen Z home buyers are reshaping homeownership with solo purchases, practical starter homes and investment-focused choices.

Even renters want to move to Texas! And ya want to know why so many are moving to East Texas? Rental prices and overall, the cost of living is lower. Personally, I think East Texas is a great place to invest. Yes, your rental rate will be lower than in the Metro's but so will the cost of buying the house as well as property taxes in most areas.
