A walk through Downtown Tyler, Texas, reveals chapters of our City’s history in brick and stone, all of which were recently designated as Local Historic Landmarks. At 101 East Erwin Street, a sturdy masonry building has stood since 1869, quietly witnessing generations of change. Just down the street, the Bergfeld Building’s (117, 119, 121 East Erwin Street) arched windows and basement recall days when horses and wagons filled the roads. On 124 South College Avenue, the Art Deco Jenkins-Harvey Super Service Station and Garage marks the leap into the automobile era.
With their new designation as Local Historic Landmarks, these buildings will continue to share their stories for years to come. 🌹
