“Beth was no nonsense about helping me get my house ready for sale. She helped me pack, organize, and differentiate what needed to stay and what needed to be donated, sold, or trashed instead of hauling it across the country. She heard me and was sensitive about the emotional toll moving was having, and made it soooooo much easier!!“

Thanks MT!

In a recent conversation, someone mentioned organization apps to our Chief of Chaos to Calm. Of course, we investigated some popular ones as we are always looking for tools to help us get and stay organized. Here's 3 we found:

Homvi allows you to take a photo of a space and their AI tool will create an automatic inventory (https://www.homvi.ai/)

Bevel - helps you rebuild your personal property inventory in order to file an accurate insurance claim in case of a disaster (https://www.bevelmade.com/)

The NAIC Home Inventory App makes it easy to create a record of all your belongings, including the ability to scan barcodes and upload photos of your items (https://content.naic.org/consumer/home-inventory)

Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. That's why the Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA created National Prescription Drug Takeback Day this Saturday, October 24th, an opportunity to safely and anonymously turn in your unused prescription drugs. Find your local site collection location here: https://www.dea.gov/takebackday

There are reviews, and then there are just outpourings of appreciation beyond our imagination. This review is that and more.

Besides the fact that our client understood how much our team "showed up" to help with her packing, we really "showed up" for her when it really mattered...in an emergency where she needed someone to contact 911.

And this is why we ask for an emergency contact when coordinating any project with any client.

Is it required?

No, but we do think it is really important because stuff happens, and we believe this is just one way we can be prepared for the unknowns that can occur on a job.

Our own Chief of Chaos To Calm just experienced this issue personally with her own family, where the emergency contact SHOULD NOT have been an 80-something-year-old with poor eyesight and confusion. It's too stressful for someone at that stage in life to be able to truly manage the "next steps," so whether you hire us or not, think about who your emergency contacts are in general and whether they are really going to be able to handle any decision-making or ability to contact others on your behalf.

Today is World Statistics Day. Here are some not-so-fun facts about how clutter affects our lives:

1. More than half of all Americans sacrifice between 100 - 500 square feet of living space to store items they rarely use.
2. People living in extremely cluttered homes are 77% more likely to be overweight.
3. 32% of people avoid inviting guests into their homes because of clutter.

Clutter can negatively affect our living space, our social life, and our physical health. Let's turn these statistics around and take care of our future selves with less chaos and more calm!

"The simpler the space, the calmer the mind." A simple quote from a home organizing influencer that always rings true. Less stuff = more calm!

October is also Long-Term Care Planning Month, designed to raise awareness and encourage families to prepare for future medical and personal care needs BEFORE a crisis occurs. Clutter can have a deep, negative impact on our overall well-being, especially as we age. If you have a loved one who is in need of home organizing or is considering right-sizing their living situation, contact our team at itsjuststuff.co/contactus

“Beth helped me organize and move my elderly father from Denver to Niwot. She is a literal godsend! So patient and loving helping him work through his resistance to letting go of every item so we could move him closer to me. My dad is very sweet but stubborn and not always easy - especially around home and stuff. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have gotten him to Niwot without her. Beth isn’t just an organizer. She’s a wonderful person whose patience and kindness made all the difference in a very challenging time for me and my family.”

Thanks Liana - moving is hard as is let alone when you're moving an aging parent. We're here to help!

As October is ADHD Awareness Month, we wanted to include some tips to help our neurospicy friends with their organizing projects:

1. Keep your to-do lists short - no more than 5 tasks. You can always do more, but not being able to check things off the list can lead to frustration and task avoidance.
2. Use a body double - whether you hire a professional or invite a friend over to hang out while you organize, having another person share the space with you helps you stay focused.
3. Use a "clutter catcher" - this can be a basket, bin, or drawer. Don't think of it as a junk drawer; think of it as a temporary landing pad for items you don't know where to put yet.

10/06/2026

October 3 - 7 is Back Care Awareness Week. As we are often moving large, heavy items when decluttering, taking care of our back is of the utmost importance. Remember, if your back is in pain, you won't even want to sit in a chair to sort through donate vs. toss piles. Go slow, lift from your legs, and don't be afraid to ask for help.

If you have larger items that you want help sorting and moving, contact our team at itsjuststuff.co/contactus
