Ghosts and vampires are scary but sewer problems are TERRIFYING in your home.
Here is a list of what NOT to put down your drain!
-Flushable and non-flushable wipes believe it or not!
-Fats, Oils and Grease from butter, oil, meat drippings and sauces
-Coffee grounds, eggshells, rice, pasta and starchy foods
-Diapers, feminine hygiene products, kitty litter, dental floss and other bathroom products
RULE OF THUMB- If it isn’t toilet paper, human waste, mild household waste water… it could develop into your worst NIGHTMARE!
Here are routine things to do to keep your sewer/septic system healthy:
-Use drain strainers/screens in your sinks, showers and tubs!
-Dispose of grease properly! Let it solidify!
-Use the garbage disposal carefully!!!
-Limit the use of harsh chemical drain cleaners!
-Routine inspections/cleaning (every 3-5 years)
-Educate all household members and guests about what can/cannot go down drains and toilets!
-Use biodegradable or septic safe cleaning products!
