Poisons are indiscriminate, killing other animals besides the intended "pests". Glue traps are no better if not worse. House keeping starting with exclusion is the best and most humane approach.

Seal Em Out is now serving Connecticut again.

You dont have a mouse problem you have a house problem.

Gaps under siding. Open utility penetrations. Bulkhead doors. Garage corners. Basement construction that offer mice direct access inside.

Poison aceelerates the problems and will never fix any of that. New ones keep coming.

Our approach is different.

We inspect the structure, find every entry point, and permanently seal the home so mice can’t get back in. No poison. No monthly service contracts. Just the building fixed and backed l warranty.

If you’re tired of getting mice inside, this is the solution.

The oil tank that moved from underground...allegedly.
The pipes below the electric panels in the first photo are supply pipes from an underground oil storage tank (UST). Underground oil tanks have one inherent potential defect that can become an environmental disaster, they can leak. Couple that with a house that gets its drinking water from an on site well, a leaking oil tank can be a double whammy.
In the second photo is the oil tank that was in the basement supplying the oil fired heating boiler. When an inquiry was made to the current owner, a flipper, regarding the underground tank, the story was the tank in the basement was moved from underground to the basement...🤣🤣🤣
I've heard some stories over the years, but c'mon! At least try to come up with something possibly believable.

Do you see it? The molding over the dishwasher bottom cover. See the door, that's as far as it can close because the molding prevents it from closing. The door was also cracked at the hinge, no disconnect or GFCI protection. Drain installed incorrectly. That's just the dishwasher. The rest of house had a similar theme. Flippers. My job security, lol.

Once again showing that, yes new construction should be inspected. The exhaust vent circled is for the clothes dryer...in the soffit...above the main entry porch roof. Also near a window, but in this instance, no foul. The window is fixed.
This house happens to have 2 laundries. The dryer exhaust duct for the second dryer is louvered which is again wrong, but all too common. The drawing shows what is a proper and compliant clothes dryer exhaust termination.
The current applicable standards are as follows,
504.4 Exhaust Installation
Dryer exhaust ducts for clothes dryers shall terminate on the outside of the building and shall be equipped with a backdraft damper. Screens shall not be installed at the duct termination. Ducts shall not be connected or installed with sheet metal screws or other fasteners that will obstruct the exhaust flow. Clothes dryer exhaust ducts shall not be connected to a vent connector, vent or chimney. Clothes dryer exhaust ducts shall not extend into or through ducts or plenums. Clothes dryer exhaust ducts shall be sealed in accordance with Section 603.9.
504.4.1 Termination Location
Exhaust duct terminations shall be in accordance with the dryer manufacturer's installation instructions. Where the manufacturer's instructions do not specify a termination location, the exhaust duct shall terminate not less than 3 feet (914 mm) in any direction from openings into buildings, including openings in ventilated soffits.
504.4.2 Exhaust Termination Outlet and Passageway Size
The passageway of dryer exhaust duct terminals shall be undiminished in size and shall provide an open area of not less than 12.5 square inches (8065 mm2).

Flippers. I call them job security😄. The kitchen in this recently renovated and listed property looked great at first glance,,,
Check out the amount of holes in the top of these cabinets from the "installer" trying to find a stud. Not to mention using the wrong screws. Add to that the dishwasher is without any connections, both water and electric, not to mention it was not secured in the cabinet space. And the topper, the oven door drags on the door trim and can not be fully opened.
Don't think a home inspection is necessary? Did I mention the leaking heating pipes and asbestos insulation.

Think a home inspection is not necessary for a newly renovated property? This recently renovated house (a flip) had many surprises awaiting in the attic. The mass of loose wiring for the new lightning for starters. The original insulation from the 1950s was damaged and missing through out the space due to the wiring installation. Not to mention the insulation is from the 1950s. High priced house without new insulation to replace the old minimal and damaged stuff? 🤔

Coal fired gravity furnace converted to natural gas probably 70 or so years ago. Check out the model name on the door, Indestructo.
