✈️ Veterans & Military Travelers — Did You Know About TSA Military Lanes?
If you’re traveling by air, there’s a TSA benefit you may want to know about.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) provides dedicated Military/Honor Lanes or front-of-the-line service at more than 30 airports for service members, veterans, and their families.
🇺🇸 And you don’t have to be in uniform.
At airports with dedicated military lanes, you can show a valid military or veteran ID to access the lane. At airports without a dedicated lane, TSA says you can show your valid military or veteran ID to the lane monitor for front-of-the-line service.
Veterans: Acceptable documentation can include: • Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
• DoD Uniformed Services ID Card
• State-issued Veteran Driver’s License or State ID
Some documents establish veteran status but must be accompanied by another acceptable form of identification.
📍 Airports currently listed by TSA include RDU, ATL, CLT, DCA-area travelers may also encounter military-specific benefits at other airports, and many more nationwide. Check the current TSA list before traveling because airport participation can change.
💡 Tip: If you need additional assistance during the screening process, TSA recommends contacting TSA Cares at least 72 hours before your flight.
