Horses saddled. Cattle loaded. Arena ready.

The funny thing about getting everything ready last night was that there was no rain in the forecast.

No clouds blocking the 100+ degree heat. No relief in sight. Just weeks of blistering temperatures and what felt like weeks of prayers for rain going unanswered.

So, you acclimate. You quit making excuses. And you get to work.

Then, despite there still being no rain in the forecast, the rain comes right as you get everything ready.

At first, it feels like something came to disturb your plans.

But really?

It was an answered prayer.

Sometimes, right in the middle of your newfound comfort, there’s an answered prayer just waiting to downpour.

It’s not coming to ruin your plans.
It’s coming to change your perspective.

Because the truth is, sometimes it’s as soon as you get comfortable being uncomfortable that you finally see your environment shift.

The rain didn’t come while we were sitting around waiting for better conditions. It came after we decided the conditions weren’t going to determine whether we showed up.

And last night, I had a thousand reasons I could’ve used not to rope including a hand that’s still healing.

But I wasn’t going to let any of them keep me from getting it done.

And then it rained.

So, happy Monday.

Get uncomfortable.
Show up anyway.
