The biggest risk isn't volatility, it's not knowing what you actually own. Prices moving up and down is normal, that's just the market breathing. The real risk is holding an asset you don't understand, funded with money you can't afford to lose, based on a plan you never actually stress-tested. Volatility is loud. The risks that wipe people out are usually quiet.
