Sellers are entering spring with more realistic pricing strategies rather than listing high and cutting later. Nationally, 16.2% of homes saw price reductions in March, down 1.2 percentage points from a year ago. "More sellers price down at list rather than cutting after seeing their home sit," said Realtor.com senior economist Jake Krimmel.

Mortgage rates jumped to 6.38% for the week ending March 26, the highest in more than six months and the biggest weekly increase in over a year, as the Iran war drives oil prices higher and raises inflation fears, according to Freddie Mac.
