Do you ever yap before your morning coffee… bc that’s what I did today 😂
And today’s ummm grand total was 16.
So naturally, we’re going to put every single one of them to work.
16 “umms” = 16 things to think about before your home hits the market:
1. Consider a pre-listing inspection so there are fewer surprises later
2. Wash the house—you’d be amazed what a good exterior cleaning can do
3. Clean the windows, inside and out
4. Touch up chipped or scuffed paint
5. Give the front entrance a little extra love
6. Declutter countertops and open surfaces
7. Pack away some of the extras—you’re moving anyway!
8. Deep clean the kitchen and bathrooms
9. Replace burnt-out bulbs and brighten dark spaces
10. Take care of those little repairs you’ve been meaning to get to
11. Freshen up landscaping and trim overgrown areas
12. Clean up the garage, basement and utility spaces too
13. Remove excess furniture so rooms can breathe
14. Address odors rather than covering them with heavy fragrance
15. Gather information on updates, improvements and the ages of your mechanicals
16. Call me BEFORE you do the other 15. 😉
Because getting ready to sell doesn’t mean fixing everything or spending a fortune.
A walkthrough before you start can help us figure out what’s worth your time and money, what buyers will actually notice—and what you can happily leave alone.
Turns out those 16 “umms” were useful after all. 😂
Thinking about selling? Start with a conversation, not a renovation.
