Pumpkin Festival is almost here! Before you head to Downtown Elkin on Saturday, September 26, here are 16 things that will help you make the most of your day! 🍂 Save this post and share it with everyone coming with you!

1️⃣ Rain or Shine 🌦️ — The festival is happening rain or shine! Check the forecast and come prepared for whatever Mother Nature brings.

2️⃣ Bring More Than One Way to Pay 💵💳 — With so many different vendors, payment options will vary. We recommend bringing both cash and a card just in case!

3️⃣ Plan Your Parking 🚗 — Give yourself extra time to park and get downtown. Parking is available at Elkin Elementary School and Elkin High School, along with other public parking areas.

4️⃣ Check the Festival Map 🗺️ — Take a look at our festival map before you arrive! It will help you find vendors, activities, shuttle stops, the Kids Zone, Farmers Market, weigh-off and more.

5️⃣ Enjoy the FREE Hayride Shuttle 🚜 — Park at Elkin Elementary or Elkin High School and catch one of our free hayride shuttles into the festival. They’ll make stops throughout the festival grounds. You can also walk into downtown from these lots!

6️⃣ Wear Comfy Shoes 👟 — You’ll be doing LOTS of walking! The festival stretches throughout Downtown Elkin, so comfortable shoes are a must.

7️⃣ Enjoy the Kids Zone 🎪 — Bring the kiddos and stop by our Kids Zone for some festival fun! The Boy Scouts will be helping operate the area this year. $10 Wristbands to Play All Day

8️⃣ Visit the Farmers Market 🌻 — Don’t miss the Elkin Farmers Market! They’ll have 20+ vendors joining us for Pumpkin Festival day.

9️⃣ Juggling Show at 3:00 PM 🤹 — Our live juggling show is BACK! Head to the Large Stage at 3:00 PM for the show, and keep your eyes open for some crowd interaction earlier in the day.

🔟 Visit EVERY Vendor 🛍️ — We have 135+ vendors and food trucks throughout the festival! Make your way from one end of the festival to the other—you never know what you’ll find!

1️⃣1️⃣ Mobility Services Are Available ♿ — We want everyone to be able to enjoy Pumpkin Festival! Mobility assistance/services will be available for those who need them.

1️⃣2️⃣ See the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off 🎃 — One of the highlights of the entire festival! Stop by the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth Official Weigh-Off and see just how BIG this year’s pumpkins and other giant produce are!

1️⃣3️⃣ It’s a Family-Friendly Event — Bring the whole family! There is something for all ages to enjoy throughout the day.

1️⃣4️⃣ Shop With Our Downtown Businesses 🏪 — The fun isn’t limited to the street! We have 54 downtown businesses participating this year. Step inside, shop local, grab something to eat, and discover businesses you may not have visited before.

1️⃣5️⃣ Purchase Your Fall Pumpkins 🎃 — State Road Hardware will be set up beside the Large Stage with a trailer full of pumpkins available for purchase. Grab one—or a few—to take a little bit of Pumpkin Festival home with you!

1️⃣6️⃣ Check Out the Quilt Show 🧵 — Make time to visit the Yadkin Valley Quilt Show at the Episcopal Church while you’re downtown. It’s another great part of everything happening during festival day!

🍂 Most importantly, come ready to have FUN! Be patient with traffic and crowds, be kind to our vendors and volunteers, explore Downtown Elkin, and enjoy everything this community has to offer.

There is A LOT happening throughout Downtown Elkin, so take a few minutes to look over the map before festival day. You’ll find:

🎃 Great Pumpkin Commonwealth Weigh-Off — Come see the GIANT pumpkins, watermelons, squash and gourds up close! Awards will begin around 1:00 PM.

🛍️ 100+ Vendor Spaces along Main Street — Shop handmade goods, crafts, gifts, fall favorites and so much more. This is a great chance to support small businesses and get an early start on Christmas shopping!

🍔 Food Trucks & Food Vendors — Come hungry! Food options are located throughout the festival and downtown.

🎈 Kids Zone — Located near the Large Stage and Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off. Wristbands are $10 each and include play all day!

🤹 Gravity Check Jugglers — Their show begins at 3:00 PM at the Large Stage!

🥕 Farmers Market — Be sure to visit our local farmers and producers while you're exploring the festival.

🧵 Quilt Show — Located at Galloway Memorial Episcopal Church.

🛍️ Downtown Businesses — Don't forget about our amazing brick-and-mortar businesses! Many will be open and ready to welcome festival visitors.

🚜 Shuttle Stops — Parking is available at Elkin Elementary & Middle School, with a shuttle running from both parking lots. Shuttle drivers will take a lunch break from 12:00–1:00 PM.

♿ Mobility Rentals — Available in front of Elkin Antiques & Collectibles Mall.

🚻 Restrooms, parking areas, road closures and shuttle pickup/drop-off locations are all marked on the map to make navigating the festival easier!
