This coming Monday, FREE admission!

Friendly reminder! The entire length of Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah National Park will have free admission this coming Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

It should be a great day for a drive, hike, waterfall trip, or picnic at one of the park campgrounds with comfortable late-May weather expected.

FORT LOUDOUN DAY, Wi******er, VA

It’s pretty amazing that we live in an area steeped in so much history.

George Washington supervised the digging of a well inside Fort Loudoun, The well has been restored and protected within the last year. The well was in use during the French and Indian War, Revolutionary War and the Civil War.

The next preservation project will be the 2nd floor of the dwelling, followed by the roof and brick masonry repairs.

FUN FACT, the original drummers red coat was dyed from red ants. 🐜
