Helping a client make his move from New York to North Carolina has been one of those moments that reminds me why I truly love what I do.

After serving his country at a young age, he went on to dedicate his career to public service. Now, newly retired and ready for a fresh start, he made the courageous decision to leave behind the familiar and begin a brand-new chapter in North Carolina.

Before he ever packed a box, we spent time doing the homework: creating a plan, discussing his goals, and identifying exactly what he wanted his next home and lifestyle to look like.

When he came to North Carolina for his home search, all that preparation paid off. We found the perfect home on the very first day of looking, and just 2½ weeks later, he was signing on the dotted line and officially beginning his next adventure.

Starting over in a new state after a major life transition takes courage, trust, and a willingness to embrace change. I’m incredibly grateful he trusted me to guide him through this journey.

🎉 CLOSED! 🎉

What a week it has been… THREE closings in one week! I am beyond grateful for my amazing clients who trust me to guide them through some of the biggest decisions of their lives.

This particular closing came with a few unexpected twists. After moving through the entire process with a preapproval from another lender, we learned just one week before closing that financing would not be able to move forward as planned. Needless to say, it was a stressful moment for everyone involved.

But this is where having the right professionals on your team makes all the difference.

Today, we closed. ❤️🏡🍾

This transaction reminded me that real estate isn’t just about contracts and houses. It’s about people, trust, resilience, and sometimes taking the long road to get exactly where you’re meant to be.

There were moments when this deal felt impossible. We navigated inspections, unexpected challenges, uncertainty, disappointment, and a lot of difficult decisions. At one point, we all thought the story had ended.

But sometimes the right house has a way of finding its way back to the right people.

Today, I had the privilege of handing over the keys to clients who never gave up on a home they truly loved. Watching it all come together reminded me exactly why I love what I do.

This career can be the most unbelievable roller coaster 🎢….equal parts joy, heartbreak, 💔 problem-solving, and celebration. 🎉 But helping good humans find great homes makes every twist and turn worth it.❤️

Today is National Dog Rescue Day, and honestly… rescue dogs have my whole heart!! ❤️🐾

Our two came from crisisdogs.nc, an organization we volunteered with and eventually foster failed/adopted from. What started as “just fostering” quickly turned into “well… I guess you live here now.” 😂 Bach was our ultimate foster fail, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

What breaks my heart is knowing that shelters across the South are beyond overcrowded right now. Every single day, healthy, loving dogs are euthanized simply because there aren’t enough homes, enough fosters, enough resources, or because people can no longer afford to keep them. And people here know that “owner surrender” means that the dog they just dropped off at the shelter are the first to be euthanized because no one is looking for them so they’re just letting them go and letting them “fend for themselves” is the rationale. Dogs have been domesticated over the years and can no longer “fend for themselves”. Just an fyi to y’all. These dogs didn’t do anything wrong! 😭They just need someone to give them a chance. ❤️

Before you shop for a dog, please take a look at your local rescues and shelters first. Some of the BEST dogs come from rescue. 🐶The loyalty, gratitude, and love they give back is something truly special. Rescue dogs know when they’ve been saved. 🥹 Just ask Bach & Kermit! 🐸

If you’ve ever thought about adopting, fostering, volunteering, donating, or even just sharing rescue posts, it matters more than you know.

And if you can’t foster or adopt, please ask yourself what you can do to help with this problem. Because IT IS a MAJOR problem here in the South. 😭
