And in the middle of all of it, there's a moment worth pausing for.

Memorial Day isn't just the start of the season. It's the reason we get to enjoy it so freely. The men and women who gave their lives in service to this country made every gathered table, every beach morning, every unhurried Cape Cod summer possible.

So this weekend, amid the celebrations - take a moment. Attend a ceremony. Say a name out loud. Let the children ask why the flags are there.

That moment matters more than any of the rest of it.
