Here we collaborated all the design remotely through FaceTime during the . Floors were refinished in a rich walnut and the hearth was retiled by in a slate chevron pattern.
Before it was a room they by-passed and instead used a back room for lounging. They told me they wanted to enjoy this room, the light that comes in and to function for entertaining or just reading a book. Storage was key, as I removed a long sideboard from the adjacent dining space (that reveal coming soon…). Creating a long built-in look, the two sideboards from create horizontal length and allowed for artwork from . It is also a place to put drinks and hor d’oeuvres or the beautiful accessories we picked from , books and speakers.
The rug is from , bluestone table is from Tala Basalt pendant from accentuates the coffee table. The Paxton sofa and Calderone side table from . Drapery, lamps and rug are from and the task lamp and sabra cactus silk pillows from . The goat hair pillow is from .
