Governor Douye Diri Resigns from PDP

Governor Douye Diri has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP — alongside the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, other lawmakers, local government officials, and top appointees.

The Governor made the announcement today, October 15th, during an expanded State Executive Council meeting attended by key political leaders.

Diri says the decision was “imperative for obvious reasons,” but assured Bayelsans that his administration remains focused on its developmental goals.

He thanked supporters for their understanding and urged everyone to keep working for the progress of the state.
