On 25 September we launched Parallax SkyGrid at the Mossel Bay JOC. SkyGrid gives the control room live thermal and visual footage of an incident while the response vehicle is still on the way.

Introducing SkyGrid OS.

For the past few months our team has been building our own operating system for drone response. SkyGrid OS is proprietary software, designed and developed in-house by Parallax Aero in Mossel Bay.

It is the command layer behind every SkyGrid flight:
- One-confirmation launch from the dock
- Live flight data: height, speed, battery and position
- Zoom and thermal camera control from the operator desk
- Live map tracking of the aircraft and dock

Most drone security providers run on off-the-shelf platforms. We chose to build our own, so we control how it works, how fast it improves and how it fits the needs of South African security teams, municipalities and responders.

Every flight is operated by a licensed remote pilot.

Mossel Bay are you ready? SkyGrid launches september.

The current system: Alarm goes off at 02:14. The nearest patrol vehicle is 8-15 minutes away, and until it gets there you are responding to something nobody has actually seen.

SkyGrid closes that gap. A drone sits docked on site, ready every night. The alarm fires, it launches, and it is overhead in under 5 minutes with live thermal and visual going to your control room.

What changes:

Eyes in the sky, giving your control room live situational awareness before anyone commits.

Officers stop arriving blind. They know how many, where, and what they are carrying.

Darkness stops being cover. Thermal sees through bush, grass and roof space.

A vehicle that runs stays in view. Live position straight to your control room while your units move.
