At 77, Cindy Valayadam has spent more than four decades building something truly special, and her story is one we had to share this Women’s Month.

What started as a small fresh produce store in 1980 became a much-loved community institution, with Cindy’s homemade pickles, preserves, spices and curries at the heart of it.

But what makes Cindy’s story so special isn’t just the food. It’s the love, resilience and community behind it. Customers became friends, friends became family, and through everything life brought her way, Cindy kept going.

Today, her recipes and legacy live on, one jar at a time.
