Did you know wildebeest don’t all come in the same colour? 💛

At Hemel Bushveld Lodge, you’ll find the more familiar 𝐛𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐭, despite the name, their coats often look more grey-brown, but we also have something a little more unusual wandering around our bushveld: 𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐭.

Golden wildebeest aren’t a separate species. They are a naturally occurring colour variation of the blue wildebeest, with a beautiful light golden-brown coat.

And yes… we might be slightly biased, but we think they’re rather gorgeous. 😍

One of the best things about staying at Hemel is that you never quite know who might wander past while you’re having your morning coffee or enjoying a drink by the pool.

Just another little bit of bushveld magic. 🌿

Did you know that Hemel Bushveld Lodge is perfect for both couples and families? 🌿

Alongside our four spacious double rooms with ensuite bathrooms, we also have two large family rooms. Each family room has four comfortable single beds and a spacious ensuite bathroom with both a separate shower and bath.

All bedding and towels are provided, so all you need to do is arrive, drop your suitcase and head straight for the pool. ☀️💦

Easy, comfortable and perfect for a relaxing bushveld getaway with family or friends.
