A true ski fanatic? Keep an eye on Schladming’s snow reports! Most years, you can already ski down to the middle station by mid-November, sometimes even all the way to the valley. Accommodation can be a bargain, and you have the slopes almost to yourself!
Same for end March & April! Slopes are most years open until eastern!
2️⃣ 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐩𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲!
Always keep your ski pass receipt. If you lose your pass, the ticket office can usually issue a replacement using your purchase details. Take a photo of the receipt, just in case!
3️⃣ 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐭! 😅
Your apres-ski fling will thank you! 😉 (and your feet too) Rent a ski locker at the bottom of the slopes. No carrying equipment around, warm and dry boots the next morning, and straight into après-ski without clomping around in those heavy boots!
4️⃣ 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧! 🌙
Try night skiing on the Hochwurzen. A completely different experience under the floodlights! Check opening nights and ticket requirements before you go.
And have diner in between at jummy spare-ribs at pre-order 🤤
5️⃣ 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲? 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧! ☁
Sometimes the valley is covered in clouds while the mountain peaks are bathing in sunshine. Check the mountain webcams before deciding to stay in bed!
