At the rising and the going down of the sun we will remember them. I wonder what our brave Anzacs would make of the country they sacrificed so much for. For one day of the year we put the mess that our politicians have created to focus on their sacrifices, on their hopes for a great country who looked after its own and where we were safe and all Australians had a home and hope for their futures. Its on days like these I remember conversations with my Grandad how fiercely proud he was of his country and how fiercely he wanted to protect our way of life. He cautioned not importing cultures that didnt align with our values and losing our right to be the country he and his brothers, family and countrymen and women fought for. He was a simple but intelligent man and those conversations have stayed with me. All those years ago he predicted the mess we now have. He was not anti immigration. He was aware that not all cultures shared our beliefs and that would cause division. These brave men and women who were much stronger and wiser than us. We need to honour their wishes and their sacrifices. Stand proud and stand up for our rights and our country as they did. That is how we honour our servicemen and women. LEST WE FORGET. π³πΏπ³πΏ πΊπΊπΊ
