We’re pleased to announce that Zone Planning QLD has secured development approval for a 4-unit Multiple Dwelling at 9 Bullimah Avenue, Burleigh Heads.

Located within Koala Park, the approved development delivers a contemporary 3-storey built form, with generous rooftop terraces provided for each dwelling. The design presents a thoughtful response to site constraints, including flood considerations, while achieving a high quality architectural outcome that complements the evolving character of the locality.

Zone Planning QLD is pleased to congratulate our client, Abedian & Co on receiving development approval for Stage 2 of the Greenmount Residences project. This stage will deliver 2 x 9‑storey luxury apartment buildings, comprising 51 high‑quality apartments, designed by 111 Design Studio.

With this milestone, the planning approval process for the entire Greenmount Residences project is now complete. In total, the project will deliver 112 new apartments, making a meaningful contribution to local housing supply while maintaining a strong commitment to design excellence.

We’re pleased to have assisted our Client, Brookmoore Group, on securing an Impact Assessable Development Approval for 32 townhouses in Burpengary.

This was a great result achieved through strong collaboration with our client, consultants and Council. Located within a Drainage Investigation area under Council’s Planning Scheme, the site benefited from the ability to fill above the flood level where Council have already delivered a regional solution for flood storage balance.

The approved development will deliver 32 well-designed townhouses in a well-located area close to many centre activities and services and more importantly, adding much-needed housing supply to the growing Moreton Bay region.

A rewarding outcome for everyone involved and another example of navigating complex approvals to deliver practical results.

Zone is pleased to have assisted Bibik Developments in recently obtaining approval for their Bilinga townhouse development at 244 Coolangatta Road, Bilinga. The 3,595m² site is a rare amalgamation of 7 existing Low Density Residential Zone lots with 3 road frontages that is uniquely located adjacent the ‘special purpose’ zoned land surrounding the Gold Coast Airport.

The 20 dwelling project will deliver much needed housing diversity to the western side of the Gold Coast Highway in this locality and involves a range 3 & 4-bedroom attached townhouse typologies.

This approval follows a comprehensive Impact Assessment process, which acknowledged the achievement of amalgamating 7 detached house lots into a single development site and recognised that well designed gentle density in suitable locations can positively contribute to community character, housing choice and urban resilience.

Zone Planning Group are pleased to have secured Development Approval for a new High Performance Training Facility for the Gold Coast Titans, supporting their NRL, WNRL and Netball teams as well as other pathways programs.

This purpose-built facility will play a key role in elite athlete development on the Gold Coast, providing state-of-the-art training, recovery and support spaces to help athletes perform at the highest level, complemented by an aligned allied health facility. The project will also make a significant community contribution, providing for two brand new, high level playing fields for community sports league and supporting amenities as well as the potential to be a host training facility for the 2032 Olympic/ Paralympic Games.

A great effort from the consultant team strongly collaborating throughout the approvals process achieving approval in less than 3 months. It’s always rewarding to help deliver projects that support professional sport, community outcomes and long-term regional growth. We look forward to seeing this facility progress from approval to reality.

What started with the three Founding Directors Dave Ransom, Dave Geyer & Steve Enders and a shared vision, has grown into a team of 30+ talented people and we couldn’t be happier of what Zone has evolved into across its three entities, Zone Planning Qld; Zone Planning NSW and Zone Landscape Architecture and just how far we’ve come.

Over the past decade, we’ve built more than a business - we’ve built strong relationships, a great team culture, and a portfolio of projects along Australia’s eastern seaboard that we’re genuinely proud of and grateful to be involved with.

Zone is pleased to announce that development approval has been secured for a new mid rise residential building in Pimpama, delivering 26 well designed, functional 2 bedroom apartments.

The development is the first of its kind to be approved in this part of Pimpama and is intended to improve local housing choice, diversity, and affordability by introducing apartment living into an area traditionally characterised by townhouses. The location is ideally suited to increased density, being located within walking distance to Pimpama City Shopping Centre and the newly opened Pimpama train station. The approval supports the neighbourhood’s transition toward a more diverse and vibrant residential precinct in line with the City Plan’s long term vision.

Importantly, the design has been guided by feasibility, deliverability, and the objective of providing an affordable apartment product—enabling construction to commence as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing this development make a meaningful contribution to the supply of more affordable housing outcomes within the area.
