Days on market is one of those terms that gets thrown around a lot in real estate conversations. But what does it actually tell you, and more importantly, what doesn't it tell you?

A high number doesn't always mean a problem. A low number doesn't always mean success. Context matters enormously; the suburb, the price point, the time of year, and how the property was taken to market all play a role.

What it can tell you is whether a property has been well-prepared, well-priced, and well-presented from day one. Because the first two weeks of a campaign are almost always the most important.
