As Melbourne continues to evolve, the demand for high-quality housing opportunities within established, well-connected suburbs continues to grow.

Our upcoming Dingley Village community represents a rare opportunity to deliver a thoughtfully planned neighbourhood within one of Bayside Melbourne’s most established locations, surrounded by existing schools, shopping, recreation, transport and lifestyle amenity.

Designed to complement the character of the area while creating new opportunities for families, professionals and downsizers, the project will feature architecturally designed homes and extensive landscaping aimed at setting a new benchmark for the community.

We look forward to welcoming local residents and prospective buyers to our upcoming Information Day on Sunday 24 May, where attendees can meet the project team and learn more about the vision for the future of Dingley Village.

Satterley has welcomed the ongoing national conversation around housing policy and tax reform, while reinforcing the importance of maintaining confidence across the residential development and building sectors.

Speaking on Friday at a UDIA lunch event, our Chief Executive and Founder Nigel Satterley AM highlighted the need for policy settings that encourage long-term investment and support the delivery of new housing supply at a time when affordability remains a major challenge across Australia.

With population growth continuing and demand for housing remaining strong, collaboration between industry and government will be critical to ensuring communities can continue to grow sustainably and affordably across Western Australia and beyond.

The 2026-27 Federal Budget sends a clear message to the property sector that housing supply remains a national priority.

Key measures announced include:

• Local housing infrastructure funding to support up to 65,000 new homes
• Reforms aimed at supporting an additional 75,000 homeowners
• Faster environmental and foreign investment approvals
• A commitment to reduce regulatory burden by $10.2 billion per year
• Additional road and rail investment to unlock growth and connectivity
• Measures designed to improve productivity and reduce red tape across industry

The Budget also reinforces the Government’s focus on increasing housing supply through infrastructure delivery, planning reform and support for the construction sector.

For developers, builders and the broader property industry, the emphasis on approvals reform, enabling infrastructure and housing delivery signals continued momentum toward accelerating residential development across Australia.

The challenge now will be translating policy into timely delivery, particularly in growth corridors where infrastructure, workforce capacity and planning efficiency remain critical.

We’re proud to see Ellenbrook recognised by the Property Council of Australia as a benchmark for long term masterplanned community development.

For more than three decades, Ellenbrook has demonstrated what’s possible when planning, infrastructure, housing diversity and community connection are considered together from day one. From early delivery of schools, healthcare and community facilities, to the creation of a vibrant town centre and strong cultural identity, the vision for Ellenbrook has always been about building a place where people can truly belong.

The recognition of Ellenbrook as the 2025 Best Masterplanned Community in Australia highlights the importance of consistent, long term investment in communities, and reflects the collective efforts of partners, planners, local stakeholders and residents who have helped shape Ellenbrook into one of Australia’s most awarded masterplanned communities.

A sincere thank you to the Property Council of Australia for recognising the impact of thoughtful masterplanning and community-led development.

The WA Government’s 2026-27 State Budget places a strong focus on housing supply, affordability and enabling infrastructure, with major implications for the property and development industry across Western Australia.

Key housing measures announced include:

• $4.7 billion in housing initiatives
• Investment to support delivery of 34,000 new homes
• Expanded stamp duty concessions for first home buyers
• More than $1.5 billion for social and affordable housing
• Funding to grow the construction workforce and housing delivery capability
• Continued investment in enabling infrastructure to unlock new residential communities

As WA continues to experience strong population growth, investment in critical infrastructure, housing supply and workforce capacity remains essential to meeting future demand.

The Budget recognises the important role of industry and government working together to accelerate housing delivery and improve affordability outcomes for Western Australians.

At Satterley, we welcome continued investment that supports land supply, infrastructure delivery, housing diversity and pathways into home ownership.

Satterley was also delighted to sponsor this morning’s Post-Budget Breakfast with Treasurer Rita Saffioti MLA, which provided valuable insights and informative discussion on the opportunities and challenges shaping Western Australia’s future.

A positive step forward for housing affordability in Western Australia.

These changes will provide meaningful savings for first home buyers, helping more people take the next step toward building or buying their first home.

The Reserve Bank of Australia has today increased the cash rate to 4.35%, the third rise in 2026.

This decision reflects persistent inflationary pressures, with fuel prices rising due to global conflict and a stronger than expected labour market contributing to increased demand across the economy.

For home buyers, movements like this can feel unsettling, particularly as media commentary intensifies around whether now is the “right time” to act.

We encourage a measured and informed approach.

While a rate rise may lead to slightly higher repayments, interest rates are only one part of a much bigger picture. Property decisions should be guided by your individual financial position, long-term goals, and readiness, not short-term market speculation.

There remains a wide range of lending options available, and with the right structure and advice, many buyers can continue to move forward with confidence.

If you are considering your next step, now is the time to seek clarity. Speaking with a mortgage broker, lender or a member of our sales team can help you understand your options and make decisions grounded in your personal circumstances.

In any market, the fundamentals remain the same. It is not about timing the market, it is about being ready for it.
