Calling all Joondalup locals! GR8 Disability Housing is heading to the Joondalup Community Disability Expo, and we’d love to meet you.

Our team will be there to chat with people with disability, families, Support Coordinators and support workers about Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), what options are available and what finding the right home could look like.

There’ll also be plenty of local disability providers to meet, information to explore and a free barista-made coffee for the first 200 people through the doors! ☕

Great morning out for What Ability Day at Optus Stadium! 🖐️

We caught up with plenty of familiar faces, kicked the footy around and put the GR8 umbrellas to good use. We even got to meet Freo Dockers players Heath Chapman and Sean Darcy.

A bathroom can be accessible and still feel modern.

In our GR8 homes, bathrooms are designed to be spacious and practical, with careful thought given to how people will actually use the space each day.

That can mean open space beneath the basin so a wheelchair user can comfortably move underneath, plenty of room to move freely, and a level-access shower with no steps or obstacles to navigate.

Great day out at the JTCESC Disability Expo in Mandurah!

We were proud to be Major Sponsor of this year's expo, and what a way to mark its 10th year. Big credit to the team at John Tonkin College Education Support Centre for putting on a fantastic event.

If you’re supporting a family member with high support needs, you may have heard of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), but how do you know if they could be eligible?

SDA is designed for a small number of NDIS participants with functional impairment or high support needs who require a home specifically designed around their needs.

Eligibility is assessed by the NDIS and requires evidence showing why SDA is needed and how the right home could support the person’s safety, independence and long-term goals.

It can feel like a lot to understand, especially if SDA is completely new to your family. That’s where having the right people around you can help.

At GR8, we work with participants, families and their support networks to help them understand SDA, the different housing options available and what the pathway towards finding the right home can look like.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to Able Meet Perth North at Hillarys Yacht Club, and to able.plus for bringing everyone together.

It was great to meet so many SIL providers, allied health professionals, Support Coordinators and others working across the disability sector. We had some really positive conversations about SDA and SIL housing opportunities across Perth.

We’re heading to What Ability Day at Optus Stadium!

This free, inclusive event is all about bringing people with disability and their families together for a fun morning out.

There’ll be plenty happening, from meeting local athletes and kicking the footy to a silent disco and BBQ.
