SOLD: THE SUMMER EDIT 🏡

A little look back at some of the homes we sold this summer.

But it’s not really just about the houses.

Behind every one was a story. A transition. A downsize. An upsize. A move to the country. Helping an elderly parent move. A move across provinces to the East Coast to be closer to family.

So many different reasons for making a move, and so many stories behind the sold signs.

We’re incredibly grateful for the privilege of being a small part of those moments. Because it’s not just the sale of a house. It’s your home, your world, and often a pretty big change in your life.

📸 Before the Seasons Change…

Early fall is a good reminder that the look of our homes changes quite a bit throughout the year.

If selling your home is something you might consider down the road, this is a great time to capture a few photos of your outdoor spaces while the gardens are still full and everything is looking great.

Those photos can be especially useful if you eventually decide to sell during the winter or early spring. They give potential buyers a chance to see your backyard in another season and get a better feel for the space.

It may be a long way off, but if a move is in your future, these photos could come in handy.

You’ll have them ready to go if you ever need them.

🏡 Sometimes it’s smarter to rent.

Yep. A Realtor said it. 😉

Buying a home isn’t automatically the “better” financial decision. It depends on your plans, your finances and how long you expect to stay put.

If you know you’ll likely move again in a year or two, renting may make more sense once you factor in the costs of buying and selling.

But if you’re looking at staying somewhere for the next five years or more? Buying may give you the opportunity to start building equity instead of continuing to pay rent.

And here’s the other thing we remind first-time buyers:

Your first home does NOT have to be your forever home.

It doesn’t need the dream kitchen, the huge backyard or every single thing on your wish list. Sometimes the smartest first purchase is simply the one that gets you into the market, allows you to build some equity and gives you more options down the road.

Renting isn’t always throwing money away.

And buying isn’t always the right move.

The better question is: What makes the most sense for YOU over the next 3–5 years?
