October is almost here so we have put together a few things to do to prep your home for fall and the cooler months ahead.

1. Give the front porch a fall refresh:
Swap tired summer planters for mums, grasses or something simple and seasonal.

2. Check your exterior before the leaves really fall:
Take a quick look at eavestroughs, downspouts, exterior caulking and anything you’ll want fixed before colder weather.

3. Put the garden to bed:
Trim what needs trimming, clear out annuals and give perennial beds a little attention before frost.

4. Make the entryway fall-ready:
Put away the summer clutter and make room for jackets, boots and all the things that inevitably start piling up by the door.

5. Make your space cozy:
Wash the heavier throws, it’s time to bring warmer textures and materials back into your living spaces. Don’t forget to pickup a new fall candle.
