Why?

1) If collection drivers cannot identify what is inside the bag, they can not verify that garbage is sorted properly.

2) There are many sanitation workers who handle garbage after it is placed curbside. If they cannot see what is in the bag, they could be unaware of potential hazards and sharps that may hurt them during their work day.
Collection guidelines are not just about proper sorting and keeping items out of the landfill. Guidelines also ensure a safe work environment for all of the people who handle Island-made waste.

The other day was all about good food, sweet treats, and getting to know the neighbours at 11 Pine Drive.
