I joined the Chatham-Kent Home Builder’s Association Board with a goal of unifying the voices of both organizations and aligning goals within our community. Home building is the most essential real estate activity and is a primary contributor to GDP in Canada and provides hundreds of Millions of dollars of economic activity in our local community each year. Volunteering doesn’t stop at one board, for me getting involved with major projects and lofty fundraising goals is a challenge I accept. As a director of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation I am able to help steer the financial decisions and management of a group that has raised over $10 Million locally and has successfully built a $60 Million treatment centre in Chatham - Opening this Fall! I am very excited to present, as chair of the Political Affairs committee for the CK Association of Realtors and as a director on the board of the CK Home Builders Association, the CK Housing Affordability Summit - tomorrow Monday June 22 at the Bradley centre. Thanks to the support of OREA and collaboration with Matthew Thornton we have been able to put together a stacked list of speakers including representatives from all levels government. CKAR has put a ton of effort into this event and the goal has been to deliver a hard hitting message from the people of CK. Nik Nanos was engaged to complete a professional poll of the major issues around housing and the costs that make or break a home owner and tomorrow we will announce the results. CKAR, CKHBA are united in ensuring that our voices are not only heard but solicited for all future housing related decisions by our local government.
