Where you’re looking matters more than ever: Toronto’s recovery hit a bump in August, Vancouver saw sales rebound, Montreal added inventory, and Calgary cooled further.

Canada’s housing picture is anything but uniform heading into fall. Toronto lost some momentum in August, Vancouver saw sales pick up despite continued price pressure, Montreal gained more listings, and Calgary cooled after earlier summer gains. RBC expects these regional differences to stick arou...

From Beverly Park to the West Village, this is a quick look at how one celebrity couple has built a seriously varied real estate portfolio.

This Elle Decor piece takes a look at the homes Justin and Hailey Bieber have owned or purchased, including properties in Beverly Hills, La Quinta, Ontario, and New York’s West Village. It’s more celebrity real estate than market news, but it’s still a fun peek at what defines luxury at the ve...

If you’re hoping affordability is finally back to normal, we’re not there yet—the typical mortgage payment still takes a much larger share of income than its long-term average.

There’s some welcome progress for Canadians trying to afford a home. National Bank says affordability improved for a record 10th straight quarter, with the mortgage payment on a representative home falling to 51.1% of median household income, its lowest level in roughly four years. This time, fall...

If buying has been on hold for you, you’re not alone—RBC estimates more than 400,000 potential households have delayed homeownership since 2019.

A lot of Canadians have spent the past several years renting, saving and waiting for a better opportunity to buy. RBC estimates more than 400,000 potential households have delayed homeownership since 2019 and believes many could start returning to the market as conditions stabilize. The bank expects...

20 years ago today I got my real estate licence and joined Royal LePage. Hard to believe it’s been that long!

I’ve been very fortunate to work with some great people over the years and a huge thank you to everyone who has trusted me to help them buy or sell a home, referred me to friends and family, or supported my business along the way.

I’ve even reached the point where I’m helping the kids of past clients buy their first homes - which is a slightly scary reminder of just how long I’ve been doing this! 😂

20 years down and still enjoying it. Here’s to the next chapter! 🥂

If you’re thinking about selling in the Lower Mainland, this is a good reminder that B.C.’s market isn’t moving at one speed—what’s happening locally matters.

B.C.’s housing market had a slower July, but the provincial numbers don’t tell the whole story. Sales fell 6.7% from last year and the average price slipped 1.3%, with much of that weakness concentrated in the Lower Mainland. Greater Vancouver sales dropped more than 9%, while Chilliwack was dow...

If Canada is going to build more homes faster, putting federal land and development expertise under one housing agency could help turn more public sites into actual housing.

Canada’s push to build more housing on public land is getting more centralized. Build Canada Homes is absorbing Canada Lands Company’s real estate holdings and development expertise, bringing major sites in places like Toronto, Mississauga, St. Catharines and Winnipeg under the federal housing a...

🏦 Bank of Canada holds at 2.25%

The Bank of Canada has decided to hold its key interest rate steady at 2.25%.

There are some encouraging signs in the economy, with stronger growth, increased consumer spending and housing activity, while underlying inflation remains relatively close to the Bank’s 2% target.

For the housing market, stable rates provide a little more certainty for buyers and homeowners — although affordability and borrowing costs are obviously still a big part of the equation.

The next Bank of Canada rate announcement is scheduled for October 28th.

Thinking about buying or selling and wondering what the current market means for you? Feel free to reach out.
