Little me had NO idea.

Honestly, I don't think she would have believed half of it.

First of all, she had no idea she'd spend the rest of her adult life looking back at photos and questioning what in the heck her mother was thinking with some of those haircuts. 😂 Seriously, Mom.

She also had no idea she'd find and marry her best friend. Have two boys. Build a life she loves. Still be happiest outside. Somehow become a plant hoarder. Start lifting weights in her 40s. Hike mountains FOR FUN. And finally learn that taking care of herself doesn't mean taking anything away from everyone else.

There have been some really freaking good chapters.

Some really freaking hard ones.

And a few that definitely weren't in the original plan.

But here's the thing...

At 46, I know myself better than I ever have.

Not in an I've got my life completely figured out kind of way. Good lord, no. 😂

I just feel more like me than I have in a really long time.

Stronger. Happier. A little braver. Still ridiculous. Still figuring things out. And finally understanding that I'm allowed to choose myself sometimes too.

Turns out, I really love her. ❤️ And if the last 46 years have taught me anything... you haven't seen the best of her yet.

Sales down. Average prices up. Make it make sense. 😂

Sales were down **16% from last month**, while average sale prices were up across the board.

BUT… take those averages with a grain of salt. They’re based on what happened to sell that month, so they don’t necessarily reflect what home values are actually doing.

This is exactly why I always say stats are the rearview mirror. Useful? Yep. The whole story? Definitely not.

Last night: 2.5 hours peeling garlic.

Today: 9 hours from the first cucumber to the last dish washed.

Turns out 60 lbs of cucumbers is a LOT of fricken cucumbers. 🥒😂

My feet hurt, my kitchen looks like a pickle factory survived a tornado, but hearing those lids pop is the best sound. 🎶

54 jars later……as you can tell I am soooo ready for bed 💚

We don’t get lost.

We simply extend the adventure.

This mornings “7 km” hike somehow became 12 km after following what appeared to be a trail… but was apparently just a memory of one. 🤣

Bushwhacked through the forest, crossed a creek, tackled evil grasshoppers, snakes and dragonflies, found our way back to a real trail, and got to witness a tiny toad migration along the way.

Every hike with Tamara ends the same:
“Well… that wasn’t in the plan.”

No adventure, no fun. ❤️

Some of the best mornings really do start before the rest of the world wakes up. 🌲🥾

My hiking buddy (and partner in crime), Tamara, and I tackled Ripple Rock this morning, and I was excited to see how it compared to the last time I hiked it.

The trail was just as beautiful.

The climb was just as steep.

But this time, I got to enjoy it.

Same trail. Same climb. Very different me. 💚

We also managed to climb over a hornet’s nest, and one of us ( not gonna point fingers) spent a solid few minutes convinced a bear was throwing things at us from the trees…

It was a squirrel. A very rude squirrel. 🐿️😂

On the plus side… we didn’t get lost this time. Turns out it’s a lot easier when there’s only one trail. 🤷‍♀️🤣
