Buying rural property is a little different from buying in town — and there are a few things you’ll want to understand before you fall in love with the property. 😉

With years of experience in conveyancing before becoming a Realtor, I’ve seen firsthand what can catch buyers off guard.

A few things to ask about early:

💧 Septic — How old is it? Has it been inspected?
🚰 Well water — What’s the flow rate? Has the water been tested?
🐴 Zoning — What can you actually build, keep, or operate on the property?
🛣️ Road access — Is it a public road, or are you responsible for maintenance?

None of this should scare you away from acreage living — far from it! 🌿 It just means knowing what questions to ask before you make an offer.
