9/11 - 25 years ago today.

I was in Fredericton when the Twin Towers fell. A terrible tragic day. It changed the world as we knew it.

I was listening this morning to interviews from survivors who were in the towers and their stories are of grief, sorrow but also of hope, joy and unity. The incredible strength of people coming together in the face of great hardship.

A beautiful interview with best friends who would never have met were it not for the planes that were diverted to Gander, NFLD. From tragedy sprang a lasting friendship.

How did 9/11 intact you?
We were preparing to head to Connecticut for my husband’s job interview. We made the trip, he got the job and a month later he started work in Middletown, CT. For 21 years we lived in East Haddam, CT and made a life there. Today our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who died on 9/11, the people who have died since from health concerns as a result of being at ground zero and with the survivors as well. Hearing their stories today was very moving and gives hope that we can come together in times of strife to support one another. Let us not forget ❤️
