This sweet little property has been owned by the Porter family for as long as I can remember. We grew up in the same area around Brookside Drive, or as many of us knew it then, Heron Road. It was still a dirt road back in those days.

I can still remember the MacFarland farm across the way, and Raymond Hill’s horses, if my memory serves me correctly. My mom still has a photo of me sitting on one of those big horses. Looking back, I think she was terrified I’d fall off.

Interestingly, years later I had the privilege of helping sell the MacFarland farm as well. Life has a funny way of coming full circle.

It was a different time, and a wonderful place to grow up.

When the Porter family called and asked me to help with the sale, it felt a little extra special. There’s something meaningful about helping people you’ve known your whole life through an important transition.

Even better, this home sold for under $200,000 to a wonderful young man just starting out. In a time when affordable homeownership can feel out of reach for many, that makes me smile.

In April, when I listed this beautiful home for my longtime clients, their little boy stood proudly beside my sign out front. A sweet moment.

This week, the home closes again, this time to our son Corey and daughter-in-law Katie as they begin their own chapter here together with their growing family ❤️
