Canada’s housing market wrapped up 2025 on softer footing, with cautious buyers holding back 🏠📉 Lower borrowing costs could bring some activity back this spring, though economic uncertainty is expected to keep the pace measured.

📊 According to the Royal LePage Home Price Update, the national aggregate home price was $807,200 in Q4 2025, down 1.5% year over year and 1.1% from the previous quarter, as the fall market proved quieter than in past years.

Looking ahead, the 2026 spring market is expected to see a gradual return of momentum — though not the sharp surge seen in previous cycles. Ongoing consumer caution and a lack of urgency are likely to keep sales activity and price growth in check, supporting more balanced market conditions.
