The last three months have been a busy season of keys, moving trucks, sold signs, and new beginnings.

What stands out most is where my connections to these amazing people have come from.

Every big move came from people and communities that have supported me over the years. From Pictou Island, to Woodland Park, to clients who have trusted me not once, but multiple times throughout their lives.

Thank you for inviting me into such important chapters. Thank you for your confidence, your referrals, and your friendship.

I never take it for granted that so much of my business is built on relationships. It’s one of the greatest privileges of my work.

Here’s to community, connection, and helping more people find fulfillment and belonging at home ❤️

Thank you, A & A, for trusting me with such an important move 🏡 ❤️ 🛶

Today, we celebrate all those who mother.

We honour the people who give so selflessly in the name of unconditional love - offering comfort, guidance, patience, and unwavering support.

My life has been profoundly shaped by motherly love, and for that, I am endlessly grateful.

Happy Mother’s Day to all who nurture, love, and help others grow - but especially to my mom. ❤️

And thank you to Isla for making this day so special, with the help of your amazing dad and thoughtful teachers.

Set on 3.16 acres with approximately 198 feet of direct ocean frontage, this rare and sought-after property is perfectly positioned on iconic John Dan’s Cove -one of Pictou Island’s most treasured stretches of white sand beach. Thoughtfully prepared for off-grid living, this property allows you to step directly into the Pictou Island lifestyle from day one. A comprehensive list of inclusions and infrastructure is already in place, offering both immediate enjoyment and a seamless path to future development. Features include: 18’ x 8’ (2006) Prowler Lynx trailer with full kitchen and bathroom (toilet, shower, propane stove, oven, microwave, fridge); 20’ x 25’ Cover-Tech tent structure on wooden posts; 2010 GMC Sierra; 600-foot private driveway installed; Engineered septic system (tank and field); 91-foot drilled well; 20 of 25 Bigfoot posts installed for future cottage; Waterline and electrical conduit run to the well; 3500W generator and water pump; 6 Koltech windows and 1 Koltech patio door; On-site materials for a ~300 sq ft screened porch; Deeded right-of-way access via Josh and Julia’s Way. Here, summer lingers a little longer. The waters of the Northumberland Strait - known to be the warmest north of the Carolinas - invite daily swims, while expansive sunsets create a backdrop that never feels ordinary. Often referred to as the “jewel of the Northumberland Strait,” Pictou Island offers a vibrant, welcoming community rooted in connection, and coastal beauty. Looking ahead, a 2025 builder estimate suggests a total investment of approximately $350,000 + HST for a completed beachfront retreat as per the available plans. This includes the land ($175,000), cottage construction to roof-tight ($125,000 + HST), and estimated finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing ($50,000 + HST). Lumber is also on site for decks, stairs to the beach, and/or porches, with only labour costs remaining.

Feeling honoured to have been nominated for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards, presented by Women of Influence.

What makes this especially meaningful is knowing the nomination came from someone within the community that shaped me. The place where I first learned the value of connection, resourcefulness, and showing up for others.

So much of what I do today is rooted in that foundation - creating opportunities for people to feel seen, supported, and a true sense of belonging.

Grateful, and carrying this with me as a reminder of where it all began 🤍

“It’s not what. It’s how.”

One of the most valuable skills an agent can bring to their Buyers and Sellers is the ability to negotiate.

And in negotiations, the difference between an average outcome and an exceptional one often comes down to this:

it’s not what you’re asking for - it’s how you’re asking for it.

There are countless ways to hone this skill: Research; practice; role-play; mentoring.

During my Master’s program at Dalhousie in Social Anthropology, I went through rigorous ethics approval to ask people deeply personal questions about their lived experiences following a contentious policy decision. It taught me how to form effective asks within complex circumstances.

The right how to achieve the desired what is rarely simple. It lives in the grey areas - grounded in market knowledge, emotional intelligence, and an understanding of the interpersonal dynamics at play between many people.

That said, here’s some across-the-board advice that will strengthen your negotiations:

• You want the other party to want to work with you - and that starts long before a deal is on the table. Show up. Support others in your industry. Be kind. Be trustworthy. Be a resource. Be present.

• You catch more flies with honey. The moment you approach negotiations from an adversarial position, what you want often moves further away.

• Keep communication positive and intentional. Small changes in wording - or how a clause is written - can dramatically change how a message is received.

And if you ever find yourself questioning the how in a negotiation - reach out.

I’m what you’d call a forever home.

I’ve held the same family since the day I first opened my doors - their milestones echoing softly in my walls.

They cared for me the way you care for something that matters - thoughtfully, faithfully, over time.

And in return, I sheltered their quiet mornings, their growing years.

We’ll miss each other, of course.

But what they didn’t realize is that, all along, they were preparing me…

To hold another story.

To protect another set of dreams.

Because I am - and always will be - a forever home.
