Oakville has a way of making an ordinary Saturday feel like you went somewhere.

A walk along Bronte Harbour. An afternoon at Gairloch Gardens. Trails through Lions Valley. Coffee and a wander through Kerr Village. Or just taking your time downtown with nowhere in particular to be.

These are 7 Oakville spots I’d recommend when you want to get out of the house without actually leaving town.

Which one would you pick for a Saturday in Oakville? And what spot did I miss?

Save this one for the next time you’re looking for somewhere local to go.

If you’ve been thinking about selling the larger Oakville home but haven’t found a condo that feels like enough of a reason to move, Claystone in Bronte is worth a look.

This is the kind of project I think makes sense for someone who wants to downsize the maintenance, not necessarily their lifestyle.

Larger suites, including some very substantial floor plans. Bronte Village and the lake close by. Opportunities to customize depending on the suite and timing. A building designed much more with the end user in mind.

There are also some very practical things that stood out to me after learning more about the project today. An extended deposit structure and a current $0 closing costs incentive covering a long list of typical builder charges, with certain purchaser expenses excluded.

If you’re sitting in a $2M or $3M Oakville home and have wondered what the next move could actually look like without leaving the community you already love, this is exactly the type of project I’d be comparing.

If a move like this has been on your mind, I’d be happy to share what I learned today.

Something significant is taking shape around Oakville GO. 👀

The Province has issued zoning orders for four sites in Midtown Oakville, permitting a framework that includes 11 mixed-use buildings.

But that doesn’t mean 11 buildings are about to break ground.

There are still details being refined and further steps to come before construction.

I spend a lot of time keeping up with what’s happening in Halton, and I’m going to start sharing more of it here. Development applications, major projects, planning decisions and changes that buyers and homeowners may want to know about.

Summer looks good here. 🌿

There’s something different about seeing a backyard at the height of the season when everything is green, full and in bloom.

When you’re buying in Oakville, don’t just look at what’s there today.

A neighbourhood can change.

Before making a decision it’s worth looking at what’s planned nearby. New development, road and transit projects, and other changes that could affect how the area feels and functions in the years ahead.

The house matters.

But so does what’s happening around it.

Some basements are just extra space.
Others are where everyone ends up. 🎱
Would you use this space more for entertaining or unwinding?

There’s more to Oakville than beautiful homes. 🌳

If you’re thinking about making Oakville home, these are a few things worth knowing.

From more than 200 km of recreational trails and a long-term commitment to its urban forest, to schools, libraries and a national ranking for livability. There is a lot behind the lifestyle people associate with this town.

I put together a few Oakville facts that might surprise you.

One of the standout features in this Oakville home is the custom kitchen by BINNS Kitchens of Toronto.

Approximately $285,000 was invested into this space, centred around a dramatic 15-foot island and finished with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.

It’s one of those kitchens that manages to feel both functional and timeless.

Great design never really goes out of style.
