Some days, real estate reminds me that it’s about so much more than buying and selling homes. ❤️

This morning, I had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful breakfast with one of my clients at Café Butte & Bine Farm while the home inspection was taking place at her house. It was a chance to slow down, share stories, and enjoy a beautiful morning together.

As we chatted, the conversation turned to old friends. She mentioned someone she had been very close to but hadn’t seen in over 16 years. To our surprise, I realized I knew exactly who she was talking about! It was a lovely lady I visit from time to time just to check in and see how she’s doing.

Without saying much, we decided to make a little detour.

The look on their faces when they saw each other again was something I’ll never forget. There were smiles, hugs, and years of memories that instantly came flooding back. It was one of those rare moments that reminds you how small the world can be and how meaningful human connections truly are.

Today wasn’t just about a home inspection. It was about reconnecting two friends who had lost touch, and I feel incredibly grateful to have been in the right place at the right time to help make it happen.

Moments like these are why I love what I do. ❤️

When I tell people I work almost exclusively with seniors and their families, the next question is almost always: Why?

Here is the honest answer:
I chose to specialize in working with seniors because, after spending more than 20 years working in retirement communities, I came to understand that this stage of life is about so much more than simply moving from one home to another. I had the privilege of building meaningful relationships with older adults and their families, witnessing firsthand the emotions, challenges, and important decisions that come with major life transitions.

Today, I hold the SRES® designation, which stands for Seniors Real Estate Specialist. It exists because this work requires specialized knowledge. Understanding the financial considerations of long-term homeowners, right-sizing options, multigenerational dynamics, and senior-friendly transaction timelines is not optional for the clients I serve. It is the job.
