✍️On a month-to-month tenancy? To end it, you must give one month of written notice no later than the day before your rent is due.

For example, if you pay rent on the first of the month and want to move by May 31, your landlord must receive your notice by April 30.

Your notice must be in writing, so avoid text messaging and social media. Instead, give your landlord a signed and dated letter with your name, signature, address, and move-out date.

The authority says Kathy Alaina Bakker provided unauthorized rental property management for 10 properties in the city between December 2019 and August 2022.
