Day 1 is underway.

Mike Davies hit the road this morning for the start of his Western Canada trip, beginning—as most Vancouver Island road trips do—with a ferry ride.

Over the coming days, Mike will be travelling through BC and Alberta to spend some face-to-face time with clients, partners, industry friends and new connections.

The current route will take him through Kamloops, Kelowna, Lethbridge, Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Jasper and Prince George before working his way back home.

But there's intentionally some flexibility built into the trip. If another meeting or worthwhile conversation comes up along the way, Mike is happy to make the detour.

We'll share a few updates from the road as the trip continues.

How long do our modular buildings last? After more than 33 years in the industry, we’re still finding out.

We don’t build them with an expiry date in mind.

At CIP Modular, quality starts long before construction is complete. It starts by understanding where a building is going, what conditions it will face and what the people using it will need from it for years to come.

A building destined for Vancouver Island may have different considerations than one headed to Northern BC, Alberta or somewhere even farther afield. Climate matters. Site conditions matter. Transportation and installation matter. And most importantly, the building’s intended use matters.

Those factors influence how we approach the project from the beginning.

That’s what we mean by Built for British Columbia. It isn’t a boundary around where we work. It’s about building for the destination.

Before a module can be placed, it needs to be designed and built with transportation and installation in mind. The route needs to be planned. The site needs to be ready. Equipment and crews need to be coordinated. And when it's time to set the building, everything needs to come together.

If modular construction is being considered for your next project, bring the modular team into the conversation early.

There are a lot of decisions made during design that can affect how efficiently a building can be constructed, transported and installed.

By getting involved early, CIP can work alongside your architect, developer and project team to consider the complete picture, from design and module dimensions to transportation, site access, installation and scheduling.

That doesn't mean the project has to revolve around modular. It means everyone has the information they need to make better decisions from the beginning.
