Today I was reminded why I love our community so much.

I learned of a young woman who had escaped an abusive home and a situation involving s*x trafficking. She was starting over with very little and needed help rebuilding her life.

I connected with an officer at the Victim Services Division to see how I could help and received a list of groceries and essentials she needed.

I immediately reached out to my friend John from John’s No Frills on Yonge and Davis. Without hesitation, he helped put everything together and generously donated a $150 gift card so she could purchase additional necessities.

John is a big man with an even bigger heart. Thank you for always stepping up for those who need it most.
