🗳️ Ottawa’s Municipal Election is coming up — and your vote matters.

The municipal government has a direct impact on our everyday lives — our roads, parks, recreation, public transit, emergency services, neighborhoods, local businesses and how our city grows.

This election, Ottawa residents will vote for two very different roles at City Hall:

🏛️ Mayor of Ottawa — the Mayor is elected by voters across the entire City of Ottawa and represents the city as a whole.

📍 Your local City Councillor — you also vote separately for the Councillor who will specifically represent your ward and your neighborhood at City Hall.

Eligible voters will also have the opportunity to vote for their School Board Trustee.

Your choice for Mayor and your choice for City Councillor are separate decisions — and both matter.

There are also a number of mayoral and local ward debates happening throughout Ottawa. Take advantage of them. Watch the debates, hear directly from the candidates, ask questions and learn where they stand on the issues affecting both our city and your own neighborhood.

Whether you’ve lived in Ottawa your whole life or you’re voting in a municipal election for the first time, take the time to learn about the candidates and understand the issues that matter to you.

You don’t have to agree with your neighbor. You don’t have to agree with us. But participating matters. Have a say in who represents your neighborhood and who leads our city.

I’m Ewa, a Grade 11 co-op student from the Business Focus program at UOttawa! I have been warmly welcomed at MacDonald Property Group, a real estate team where I’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn more about the business and real estate industry.

I’ll be contributing to marketing, social media, property listings, client care, and content creation, while also learning the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a real estate business runing.

I’m looking forward to bringing creativity, organization, and fresh ideas to the team while learning from professionals and discovering more about a career in business and real estate.

Once outdoor temperatures drop below about **16°C (60°F)**, it’s best to stop running a standard central air conditioner.

Running it in colder weather can cause the system to freeze up and put unnecessary stress on the equipment.

While you’re at it, clear leaves and debris away from the outdoor unit and check your furnace filter. A little fall maintenance can go a long way. 🏡
