With shorter days and cooler Prince George weather, a little preparation can make your home feel bright, welcoming and ready for winter.

🏡 Tidy the approach. Rake leaves, sweep walkways and clear the gutters. A simple seasonal accent at the front door adds warmth without distracting from the home.

💡 Brighten things up. Open curtains for daytime showings, replace burnt-out bulbs and turn on lamps. Check exterior lighting so evening visitors can easily see the entrance.

🛋️ Add a little comfort. A soft throw and a few neutral cushions can make a living room inviting. Keep surfaces clear so buyers can appreciate the space.

🥾 Give boots a landing spot. A clean mat and boot tray help manage wet weather. Put away extra shoes and coats to keep the entryway spacious.

Why Live in Connaught, Prince George?

Some Prince George neighbourhoods are all about having more space. Others are about convenience. Connaught manages to give you a pretty nice helping of both.

It’s one of those established neighbourhoods where mature trees, larger lots and homes with a bit of personality are part of the appeal — while downtown Prince George is still just minutes away.

For buyers who like the idea of being close to the action without actually living right in the middle of it, Connaught deserves a closer look.

A neighbourhood with some history

Connaught has been part of Prince George for a long time, and you can see that in the streetscape.

Rather than rows of nearly identical homes, you’ll find a mixture of older character homes, mid-century properties, updated houses and newer construction tucked in among them.

That variety gives Connaught a neighbourhood feel that can be hard to recreate in newer developments.

There are also mature trees and established yards throughout the area, which can make a big difference when you’re picturing what everyday life will actually feel like here.

Close to downtown — without feeling downtown

Location is one of Connaught’s biggest advantages.

You’re close to downtown Prince George, but you don’t necessarily feel like you’re living in the downtown core.

Depending on where you are in the neighbourhood, restaurants, shops, recreation and cultural destinations can all be within easy reach.

Nearby amenities include the Canfor Leisure Pool, Two Rivers Gallery, Kopar Arena, Prince George Civic Centre and Connaught Hill Park.

That can be particularly appealing if you’d rather spend less time in the car and more time actually enjoying where you live.

And yes, being able to decide on a restaurant without turning it into a cross-city expedition is a pretty nice perk. 😄
