The other day my buyerβs wanted to accept an offer $5,000 more than what their offer was.
They loved the home, and I could see they were emotionally attached after picturing themselves there.
I advised them to hold firm in their price since their original offer was fair and, in my experience, knew the sellerβs would most likely accept it.
They worried about losing the house, but I assured them there was no harm. Sure enough, their offer was accepted shortly after.
$24,900 lower than asking price.
Would an agent that was just there for the commission cheque show them comparable sales to guide them on making a good investment? No.
Would they spend extra time on their Friday night & Saturday morning going back and forth with negotiations knowing the buyers wouldβve paid full price anyways? No.
Would they insist on negotiating less of a purchase price which then reduces their commission? Definitely, no.
Real estate is an investment as much as it is a home. And $5,000 is $5,000.
And the best part was when my buyers thanked me for increasing their new furniture budget π
