Both Canada and the USA recognize today to remember and honor the children who were forcibly separated from their families. They were sent to residential schools or boarding schools. Some never returned home.

In Canada, today is National Truth and Reconciliation Day. In the USA, today is observed as Every Child Matters Day. The abuses suffered by these children and their families caused intergenerational trauma which is still felt today.

Take a moment today to reflect, learn the truth about our history, and wear your orange shirt.

It’s wild how a space can go from “what did I get myself into?” to actually seeing the vision take shape. Still lots to do, but this is where it starts getting fun. Paint colors chosen, flooring picked out, and new cabinet hardware ordered.
