It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Susan Demeester (Workman), in her 67th year, on Wednesday August 19, 2026, at the Brantford General Hospital. Carol passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous 1.5-year battle with cancer.
Carol loved life—and she lived it with a wonderful sense of humour. She had an amazing ability to find something to laugh about and rarely missed an opportunity to share a joke, a smile, or a good story. Her laughter was one of the things that made her so special and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Golf was Carol’s sport and one of her favourite passions. She took every opportunity to play, improve her game, and enjoy the time spent on the course. She was determined, competitive, and always willing to work on becoming a better golfer.
But perhaps Carol’s greatest joy was being a mom and Mémé. She loved watching and participating in her children’s sports and was quite possibly the nosiest—and proudest—fan in the stands, cheering loudly and enthusiastically from the sidelines. Her children always knew exactly where she was.
As a grandmother, Carol continued to take great pleasure in watching her grandchildren participate in their own chosen activities. She was still their biggest supporter, although perhaps a little less vocal from the stands.
Above all, Carol treasured her family. She loved deeply, laughed often, and created memories that will remain with those she loved for generations. Her absence will leave an enormous space in the hearts of her family and friends, but her laughter, her stories, her spirit, and the love she gave so freely will live on.
Friends and family will be welcomed drop in, visit and share memories of Carol at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, Paris, Ontario, on Saturday, September 5th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
