5 and a half weeks until race day. Today I walked in to . Salesperson Jeff put me on the scanner and walkpad. The scan took measurements and I found out I’ve got big feet, and they’re wide too! 9.1C on the left foot and an 8.6C on the right. Apparently women’s shoes come in a standard B width and I’ve been wearing a size 9 so my left foot has been feeling under pressure! I went with the ASICS Sonicblast size 8 men’s which is equivalent to a woman’s 9.5C. The men’s sizes are wider. So if you need a pair go see Jeff.
I also bought a couple of to try and come up with a proper fueling strategy.

As race day approaches I still need a race outfit, a water bottle I can hook onto my shorts.
I also need a bib! 🏃‍♀️

I was riding a bike to the gym today. When stopped at a red light a younger lady approached me with a smile. She asked me if I could go back to being 30 what would I tell myself?
I could tell by the look on her face that she was hoping for some mature wisdom to match my silver hair.
It was a question that made me pause for about 30 seconds. My thoughtful reply was this:
1. Have more fun
2. Things that seem so important in the moment will not weigh as heavy after some time has passed. Time lightens the weight of most things.
3. Do what you want to do.

That was the best I could come up with on the spot.
If I can add something now I would say this. Tell people what you really mean, and tell the people that you care about what they really men to you.

I’d like to ask you the same question. If you could go back to when you were 30 what would you tell yourself?
