I was riding a bike to the gym today. When stopped at a red light a younger lady approached me with a smile. She asked me if I could go back to being 30 what would I tell myself?
I could tell by the look on her face that she was hoping for some mature wisdom to match my silver hair.
It was a question that made me pause for about 30 seconds. My thoughtful reply was this:
1. Have more fun
2. Things that seem so important in the moment will not weigh as heavy after some time has passed. Time lightens the weight of most things.
3. Do what you want to do.

That was the best I could come up with on the spot.
If I can add something now I would say this. Tell people what you really mean, and tell the people that you care about what they really men to you.

I’d like to ask you the same question. If you could go back to when you were 30 what would you tell yourself?
This painting was made by my friend Kevin as a gift to his partner Ian for his birthday many years ago. I just wanted to share it with you.

Turning 55 today. It is a privilege to make it here, and that is not lost on me.
I carry the beautiful memories of dear friends who didn’t get to see this milestone, and I celebrate today with a heart full of gratitude for them, and for the life I’m blessed to live.
The last few weeks have left me completely overwhelmed with positive emotion. Between the grounding calm of nature, the return of abundance, and the joy of my wonderful family, I have finally let go of things I held onto for way too long.
A massive thank you to the universe for aligning everything perfectly to lead me to this state of serenity.
I spent a truly memorable evening celebrating in Toronto’s Distillery District, enjoying an incredible dinner and perfect ambience on the patio at Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie. A special toast to my wonderful friend Seemi—who may be camera-shy, but gave me a birthday night I will never forget. 🥂✨”📸🤍 happy

I received a business call at 8:56 am this morning. A very friendly voice delivered the most wonderful news I had been awaiting for over 9 months. With one brief call I felt the weight of the world dissolve immediately.
I feel so incredibly blessed and thankful.
My heart is so joyously full these days. Realizations of so many things, so many wonderful times and opportunities to come.

Every time I remember a certain joke my mind goes right back to Scotland, and the peace I felt sitting in a field with a hairy coo at Neist Point Lighthouse.

There is a beautiful cake 🎂 in the centre of the a field. On one side there is a cow. On the other side there is a goat. Which animal is going to eat the cake?
The cow, because the cow goes mmmmm, and the goat goes bahh.
It’s an innocent joke, perfect for times when you need to clear the fog.

🚨 WATERFRONT UPDATE: One of Toronto’s favourite shortcuts is officially BACK! 🌉✨
After being blocked off for nearly five years, the Amsterdam Bridge on Queens Quay has officially reopened just in time for the summer rush and the FIFA World Cup 2026! ⚽️🇨🇦
Here is the quick breakdown on this local icon:
The Origin 🇳🇱: Gifted to Toronto by the Mayor of Amsterdam in 1974 to celebrate our cities becoming “twins.” In return, Amsterdam renamed one of its own massive canal structures the Torontobrug (Toronto Bridge)!
The Closure 🛑: Abruptly shut down in 2021 after severe corrosion made the steel cable footbridge structurally unsafe.
The Fix 🛠️: Rebuilt piece-by-piece to restore its foundational integrity and safety cables, completely renewing the link between York Quay and Rees Street.
The Cost & Funding 💰: A $1.2 million rehabilitation project. While the Harbourfront Centre initially couldn’t afford the repairs, the City of Toronto stepped in alongside CreateTO to fully fund and fast-track the project.
Fun Pop-Culture Fact 🎬: Did you know this bridge made a cameo in the 2002 romantic comedy classic My Big Fat Greek Wedding? It’s long been considered one of the best selfie and proposal spots on the lakefront.
Mayor Olivia Chow and Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik cut the ribbon on May 31, 2026, to officially welcome back those flawless CN Tower views.

Stopping at Bathurst Key, Yonge St. And Cherry St. This shuttle service costs $15 per person and runs both eastbound and westbound 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. This service compliments existing bus service, ferry service, and water taxis.

Travelling east bound from Bathurst Quay to The Yonge St. Slip, and further east to Ookwemin Minising, and westbound service on in Reverse.

This service will run June through September and is a lovely alternative for people looking to explore Toronto’s Harbour areas and escape street traffic during peak times, and events.

I look forward to taking the shuttle and seeing what this experience is like.
