🚨 WATERFRONT UPDATE: One of Toronto’s favourite shortcuts is officially BACK! 🌉✨
After being blocked off for nearly five years, the Amsterdam Bridge on Queens Quay has officially reopened just in time for the summer rush and the FIFA World Cup 2026! ⚽️🇨🇦
Here is the quick breakdown on this local icon:
The Origin 🇳🇱: Gifted to Toronto by the Mayor of Amsterdam in 1974 to celebrate our cities becoming “twins.” In return, Amsterdam renamed one of its own massive canal structures the Torontobrug (Toronto Bridge)!
The Closure 🛑: Abruptly shut down in 2021 after severe corrosion made the steel cable footbridge structurally unsafe.
The Fix 🛠️: Rebuilt piece-by-piece to restore its foundational integrity and safety cables, completely renewing the link between York Quay and Rees Street.
The Cost & Funding 💰: A $1.2 million rehabilitation project. While the Harbourfront Centre initially couldn’t afford the repairs, the City of Toronto stepped in alongside CreateTO to fully fund and fast-track the project.
Fun Pop-Culture Fact 🎬: Did you know this bridge made a cameo in the 2002 romantic comedy classic My Big Fat Greek Wedding? It’s long been considered one of the best selfie and proposal spots on the lakefront.
Mayor Olivia Chow and Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik cut the ribbon on May 31, 2026, to officially welcome back those flawless CN Tower views.
👇 Local friends: Did you miss this shortcut? Drop a comment if you’re planning a walk across it this weekend!

Stopping at Bathurst Key, Yonge St. And Cherry St. This shuttle service costs $15 per person and runs both eastbound and westbound 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. This service compliments existing bus service, ferry service, and water taxis.

Travelling east bound from Bathurst Quay to The Yonge St. Slip, and further east to Ookwemin Minising, and westbound service on in Reverse.

This service will run June through September and is a lovely alternative for people looking to explore Toronto’s Harbour areas and escape street traffic during peak times, and events.

I look forward to taking the shuttle and seeing what this experience is like.

Born and raised in the west end, but The Beaches has completely stolen my heart.🌊
Spent the perfect sunny afternoon on a long run, stopped halfway to catch my breath, and spent way too much time window shopping. The energy here is exactly what I need this summer!
(Swipe to check out a couple of my favourite windows from today’s route!)

By the way, if you’ve ever thought about making the move to this incredible lakeside community, I’m always happy to talk real estate over coffee in The Beach😎 Shoot me a message!☕️✨

The “Soft Market” Myth: why my client is celebrating his sale. 🤔

It’s easy to panic when the headlines say the condo market is “terrible”. But real, strategic sellers know that a soft market is actually a game-changer. 📉➡️📈
My client needed out of his studio and into something bigger to accomodate a new partner and a growing business. The condo was originally purchased 5 years 5 years ago for $550k, and we listed in a tough market.

The Strategy? Sell low, buy lower.

He realized that by selling his smaller, stagnant asset, he could step into a much larger, more expensive property at a massive relative discount.
✅Sold low (Quick closing to reduce carrying costs)
✅Goal: Purchase larger, upscale home with significant market savings.

The result? A winning position, not a loss.

Stop fearing the market, and start planning your move.
📲DM me to discuss how a “low” market can elevate your living space.

Toronto condo living is more than just four walls, it’s a shared community. While some bylaws might seem strict at first glance, they are the “secret sauce” to maintaining your property value and peace of mind.
Here are the top 5 bylaws you need to know and why they actually work in your favour:
1️⃣Short-Term Rental Bans: By restricting platforms like Airbnb, buildings stay more secure and quiet. You’ll have the comfort of knowing your neighbours, rather than a rotating door of tourists.
2️⃣Uniform Balcony Rules: What can be stored outside keeps the building’s “curb appeal” high. A clean, uniform exterior directly correlates to higher resale values for every unit in the tower.
3️⃣Pet Size &/or Lobby Restrictions: These rules ensure that common spaces remain clean and accessible for everyone. It prevents overcrowding in elevators, and helps maintain the high-end feel of the main entrance.
4️⃣Quiet Hours & Flooring Specs: Specific rules for noise and underlayment mean you can actually enjoy your home. Protecting you from overhead noise, ensuring your “quiet enjoyment” is more than just a phrase.
5️⃣Renovation Approvals: Requiring board sign-off for upgrades ensures all work meets building codes. This protects the entire tower’s structural and plumbing integrity, preventing one unit’s leak from becoming everyone’s problem.
Knowledge is power when it comes to condo living!

I’ve been speaking to my therapist about self care. Two weeks ago we spoke about comfy sweaters, cozy blankets. Colourful pens for journaling. Today we talked about loving ourselves: social emotional spiritual mind body.
I think there is something to be said for slowing down. This week I will love myself by wearing cozy clothes, walking through beautiful parks, drinking good coffee, and doodling in my journal. I will also find myself a good book and lose myself in its pages.
