Being a police officer is one of the toughest jobs out there—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Most people have no idea what it truly demands. It’s a calling, not a shift.

Recently, I heard a story about a business in Vancouver refusing service to a uniformed VPD officer. That’s not just disrespectful—it’s unacceptable. If you work in customer service, your job is to serve all customers. You don’t get to pick and choose who’s “worthy” of a cup of coffee or a place to sit based on your personal views.

Police help people regardless of their politics, culture, background—or even if the person they’re helping hates cops. That’s the job. And they do it every single day.

We are incredibly lucky to live in Vancouver. It’s one of the best cities in the world. But it doesn’t stay that way by accident. It takes people who are willing to show up, step in, and do the hard work—especially when no one’s watching.

Hectic year this year. From my family to yours, really appreciate all the support in all aspects. 2024 was an insane year for multiple reasons, but I’ll reflect more on that as soon as we are onto 2025. 2024 has been a challenge for a lot of us out there, but family, good friends and a good community keeps things going - and is what matters 🙏
